GemBlitz Bonanza Deluxe picks up where the original left off. Mancala Gaming launched the first GemBlitz Bonanza in October 2024 as a compact 3x3 Hold & Earn game with a 5,000x Grand Jackpot. About a year later, the Deluxe version arrived with a 5x3 grid, 15 symbol positions instead of 9, and a Grand Jackpot bumped to 7,000x. The hit frequency also jumped from 4.5% to 13.4%, so base game spins feel noticeably more active.
At its core this is still a Hold & Earn slot. Line wins exist (10 fixed paylines) but they're secondary. The real action starts when symbols fill the middle row and trigger the Bonus Game.
Five symbols across the middle row kick off the respins round. You get three respins. Every new symbol that lands resets the counter back to three. Spins keep going until you run out or fill the entire 5x3 grid - and filling all 15 positions awards the Grand Jackpot of 7,000x. All other prizes get forfeited in that scenario, which is a bold design choice.
Four fixed jackpot tiers sit at the top of the screen: Mini (10x), Minor (20x), Major (50x), and Grand (7,000x). Jackpot symbols land during the bonus and award their tier value. Surprise Jackpot symbols add an element of randomness - they transform into any jackpot tier except Grand after the bonus ends.
Collector symbols are the high-ceiling mechanic here. When one lands during the bonus, it scoops up all existing coin values on the grid and multiplies the total by a random factor between 1x and 20x. It doesn't remove the coins either, so they keep contributing to future collectors. Stack two or three collectors in a single bonus and the math gets serious fast.
Multiplier symbols appear only in the bonus round. They double the value on adjacent coin symbols, then vanish. Simple but effective when paired with collectors.
The Claim Win feature works differently - it's a base game mechanic. A Claim Win symbol collects values from its position over multiple spins until its counter hits zero, then pays a percentage of the accumulated amount. That percentage ranges from 10% up to 200%. It keeps the base game from feeling completely dead between bonuses, which is a common complaint with Hold & Earn slots.
The Buy Bonus costs 93x your bet and drops you straight into the Bonus Game with three respins. For context, the original GemBlitz Bonanza offered its buy at 44x - the Deluxe version is more than double. That price reflects the wider grid and higher ceiling.
RTP sits at 95%, a single tier with no operator adjustments. That's a full percentage point below the 96% benchmark most players expect, and with very high volatility on top, extended sessions will drain faster than average. The 13.4% hit frequency helps keep things moving, but don't confuse hit rate with return rate.
Purple and violet dominate the color palette, with sparkle effects and diamond-cut gem symbols. The four jackpot values are always visible above the grid, updating in real time with your bet size. Gold-framed reels sit against a gradient background. It's clean and readable. Mancala's Pixi.js engine runs smoothly on mobile and desktop, though you might get a performance warning popup on first load.
The symbol set includes blue diamonds with cash values, green star jackpots, and the various special symbols (Collector, Multiplier, Surprise, Sticky) - each visually distinct enough that you won't confuse them during fast play.
