Gold on gold, mostly. The background is a flat sheet of it stamped with tone-on-tone fleur-de-lis, and a fat red 40 sits either side of the reels like a numberplate. Reel windows are dark brown behind thin gold frames, and the symbols have that glossy plastic shine: a faceted red 7 cut like a ruby, a gold bell, watermelon, orange, half a lemon, cherries, purple plums and a bunch of blue-black grapes.

The crown is the only symbol with any craft in it. Purple velvet cap, gold arches, a band studded with green and red stones and a heart-shaped ruby at the front, framed in its own bright gold tile so it announces itself the second it drops. Winning symbols get a small flame burst behind them, and that is roughly the extent of the animation. Along the bottom a meter cycles through the Gold, Platinum and Diamond jackpot totals, with the Wild Booster switch on a gold plaque to the left. Clean machine, no ideas past looking expensive, and the fruit set is the one a hundred other games already use.

The rhythm is flat and quick. Forty lines on a low stake means the win counter is nearly always doing something, and most of what it hands back is smaller than the spin that produced it. The balance drains while the screen keeps flashing. Red 7 paying from two of a kind feeds that illusion more than it feeds the balance.

All the tension sits in one narrow place. Three reels, waiting for a gold tile. When it drops the payoff is immediate, one clean burst across a fistful of lines, and then it is straight back to fruit. Nothing builds. No meter fills, no round waits at the end of a run, so a session has no shape beyond crown or no crown. Medium volatility keeps the swings gentle, which cuts both ways, and you will likely spin a long while without either a disaster or a moment worth telling anyone about. Fazi clearly knew this, which is why the Booster exists at all: it is the one lever a player has over the pace.

This is a cabinet game, built for someone who wants a lever and a fast spin instead of a bonus round to chase. On that job it delivers. A full wild reel in the middle of a 5x3 grid is worth far more across 40 lines than across 10, and the game pays it in one satisfying hit rather than stringing it out. The 1,421x ceiling is honest about the scale of all this. Nobody is retiring on it.

What holds it back is that there is nothing underneath. Take the crown out and a 2005 fruit slot with a gamble button is left standing. The mystery jackpots pay out to somebody somewhere, on odds nobody publishes. If the Booster toggle sounds like more trouble than it is worth, Golden Crown 40 runs the same reels without it, and the toggle is arguably the more interesting half of this one.
