The original Ice Wolf from 2019 had one problem: no bonus. The base game ice mechanic was solid - clear ice through wins, expand the grid, build wilds - but without a dedicated bonus round, the game plateau'd quickly. Six years later, Ice Wolf 2 adds Wolf Spins. One bonus symbol on the feature row triggers 5 Wolf Spins with the Wolf Den unlocked beneath the main grid.
Max win jumped from 2,500x to 10,000x. The trade-off is RTP, which dropped from the original's 96.1% to ELK's current 94% standard. Whether that swap works for you depends on how much you value bonus potential versus return rate.
Howling Wolf sits in the main grid. Before wins evaluate, it turns and howls in a 90-degree cone, clearing ice and boosting any wild multipliers caught in the blast. Then it becomes a wild itself.
Ice Wolf is the respin engine. It sticks to its position, triggers a respin, and runs up its column converting everything above it into wilds while clearing all ice. Multiple Ice Wolves on one spin mean multiple respin chains with columns filling with wilds from the bottom up.
Golden Wolf appears on the feature row (columns 2-5) and acts immediately - before win evaluation even starts. It affects three columns at once (its column plus both adjacent), running down each one, clearing ice and converting symbols to wilds. Golden Wilds can land with x2, x3, or x5 multipliers from the start. Getting a Golden Wolf early in a round with stacked ice above is the fastest path to a full-grid activation.
The grid starts at 6x3 with 729 ways. Three rows of ice and a feature row sit above, locked. Each win clears ice above the winning symbols, and respins keep the chain going. At full expansion: 6x7 grid with 100,842 ways to win.
Hit frequency sits at 20.9% - the lowest in this ELK batch, roughly one in five spins. That's because the opening grid is small and most ways to win are locked behind ice. The game rewards chains: one win clears ice, respins fire, new symbols in expanded rows create new wins, more ice clears. When nothing connects on the initial 3-row grid, the round is over fast.
The Wolf Den only exists during Wolf Spins. Each spin can activate up to 4 Ice Wolves from below the main grid. These wolves run up their columns just like regular Ice Wolves - clearing ice, creating wilds - but they don't award extra respins. Combined with feature row multipliers (x2 through x50) that stick between spins, the bonus can stack wild multipliers across an expanding grid over 5+ spins.
The X-iter menu has a useful middle option: 25x Ice Breaker clears all ice instantly, giving you the full 100,842 ways on a single spin. That's a direct taste of the expanded grid without buying the full 100x or 250x bonus.
