Klowns puts two menacing circus characters on a 6x5 scatter-pay grid. Eight or more matching symbols anywhere count as a win, cascading clears them, and everything feeds into a Total Win Bar outside the grid. At the end of each spin, if any wins occurred, Klown Multiplier symbols activate in sequence - adding to or multiplying the Total Win Bar's multiplier before it applies to your collected wins.
The multiplier range is wide. Adding Klowns carry values from 2x to 500x. Multiplying Klowns go from x2 to x20. A single 500x adding Klown sets the Total Win Bar multiplier to 500x. Follow that with a x20 multiplying Klown and you're at 10,000x - the game's full ceiling from just two symbols.
That ceiling matters because 40% of spins return something. Four in ten. For a game with these multiplier values, that's a generous hit rate.
After the grid settles and all wins are paid, Needle Box symbols activate. Low-Symbol Needle Boxes remove every low-paying symbol from the grid, awarding 0.1x per removed symbol. High-Symbol Needle Boxes do the same for high-paying symbols at 0.3x each. Epic Needle Boxes clear everything - all paying symbols gone, small payout per symbol, and in bonus modes they pop the Bounty Balloon.
The removal creates massive cascades. Clearing all low symbols from a 30-position grid might remove 15+ symbols at once, dropping in fresh ones that can form new winning clusters. If Klown Multipliers landed alongside the Needle Box, they activate after the clearing cascade finishes, applying to whatever wins accumulated through the whole sequence.
Three scatters trigger Lester's Cash Carousel with 10 free spins. This mode adds Epic Needle Boxes and the Bounty Balloon. Every multiplier applied to the Total Win Bar also gets copied into the Balloon. When an Epic Needle Box lands and pops the Balloon, its stored multiplier value transfers to the Total Win Bar.
After popping, the Balloon resets to zero and respawns. You start building it again from scratch. The rhythm is: accumulate multipliers in both the bar and the balloon, pop the balloon with an Epic Needle Box to cash in the stored value, then rebuild. Each pop cycle adds another layer of multiplier to the round's total.
Buy price: 70x your bet. Retriggering adds 2 spins for 2 scatters or 4 for 3.
Four scatters trigger Jester's Jackpot with 10 free spins. Same mechanics as Lester's, with one critical difference: the Bounty Balloon keeps its value after being popped. It respawns with whatever multiplier it had before, ready to keep growing.
This changes the math completely. In Lester's, each Balloon cycle is independent. In Jester's, the Balloon compounds. Pop it three times across 10 spins and each pop adds the full progressive total - which includes everything from previous pops. Late-game Balloon values in Jester's Jackpot can reach numbers that dwarf the base multiplier bar.
The 200x buy price reflects this. At €0.10 minimum bet, that's €20 per entry. Expensive, but the progressive Balloon is where the 10,000x ceiling becomes realistic.
Four tiers of entry:
The Laughing Loot option is interesting - it guarantees one multiplier Klown and one Needle Box every spin but blocks free spin scatters. You get consistent action without bonus potential. It's the grinder option for players who want multiplier chains without committing to a full feature buy.
The horror aesthetic is committed. Lester and Jester leer at you from the sides of the grid, the soundtrack creeps, and the Needle Box animations sell the twisted carnival mood. It's one of Hacksaw's darker presentations, and it works better than the studio's lighter attempts at the same vibe.
