Zeus, Hades and Hera sit at the top of the paytable, but the reels are mostly a delivery system for coins. The game is built around a Hold and Win round that fires when five or more coins land at once, and those coins arrive through mystery symbols flipping over on a 5x3 grid. Twenty fixed paylines handle the housekeeping in between.

This is the purchase edition of Temple of Thunder II, which means a red Bonus Buy button on the left rail and two prices rather than one. Base RTP is 95.82%, and the 3,624x ceiling is really the Epic Prize plus whatever coin values happened to come with it.

The setting is oddly cheerful for a game with thunder in the title. Bright blue daytime sky, rolling green hills, a few small trees along a path that winds off toward pale blue mountains. It looks like a nice afternoon in Arcadia. The only weather shows up when a payline connects and a jagged bolt of lightning snaps across the reels, which sit in a gold frame over deep purple panels.

Zeus is the best of the portraits: white beard, gold laurel crown, red drape behind him. Hades gets a green halo and a jade-set crown, Hera a fan of purple feathers over silver armour. The four royals are cracked stone letters in pink, purple, green and pale blue, clean but plain next to the painted gods. Down the left rail four prize plaques (Epic, Major, Minor, Mini) glow from the first spin, with the Bonus Buy button parked underneath them.

The base game pays often enough to keep the balance moving, a shade over 28% of spins landing something, and almost none of it registers. Most hits are a couple of royals on one line. The stretches between coins are where the session actually sits, and the mystery symbols are the only thing worth watching, because a reveal that turns three cells gold is the difference between another nothing spin and a bonus.

Then the respins start and the game turns into something else. Three respins, reset on every new coin, fifteen cells to fill. Two coins back to back and the board looks alive; two blanks and it is done. That pull, one more coin buying three more chances, is the sharpest thing in the game (the kind of round you either lean into or sit out).

Free spins are the quieter half and, for my money, the duller one. With coins pulled from the pool, ten spins comes down to whether wilds stack in useful places. Sessions built around the buy button end up looking alike: a flat run of base spins, a purchase, a short burst, back to flat.

Evoplay built a decent coin game and dressed it in a sunny postcard. The respin round is well judged, the Epic Prize gives it a finish line you can see, and the two-price buy menu is a smart bit of design next to studios that give you only one door. Against that: a below-average base RTP, a cheaper purchase that returns less than the pricier one, and a free spins round that had its best toy removed on purpose.

It works in short bursts around the buy button rather than as a long session, and nothing in it will surprise anyone who has played a few hold-and-win titles. The coin board carries the game; everything around it is scenery.
