About The Wild Wings of Phoenix Slot
Wilds can only land on reels 2, 3 and 4. Reels 1 and 5 never hold a phoenix, which means every expanding Wild sits in the middle of the board and substitutes across the adjacent reels rather than anchoring either edge. On the 10 fixed paylines that restriction keeps base-game wins pretty tight, and the phoenix mostly earns its keep by stretching vertically to fill the entire reel when it lands.
The bonus round is where the design actually opens up. Three or more phoenix-egg scatters (Booming tags them Bonus rather than Scatter on the symbol art itself) award 12 free spins with two layered mechanics running at once. First, every Wild that lands during the round hands out extra spins: one Wild gives +1, two Wilds give +3, three Wilds give +5. Land more scatters mid-feature and the round retriggers on top of that. The branding calls it Unlimited Free Spins, which is accurate in the sense that there's no hard cap - you stay in as long as Wilds keep showing up.
Second, and more interesting, Major Upgrades kicks in. Each Wild landing during free spins bumps the level by one, and at every new level the lowest-value major symbol on the reels is replaced by the next tier up for the rest of the round. So the green-masked Aztec warrior gets promoted to the red-masked queen, then the blue jaguar, and so on - the reel strips themselves change as the level climbs. By the top tier the board can be populated entirely with premium majors, which is where the math actually has something to do. Before that point, free spins lean on standard 10-line payouts.
A Buy Free Spins button skips the trigger hunt, dropping you straight into the feature at Level 1 with whatever cost multiplier the operator has set. Grid sits inside a gilded Mesoamerican lintel carved with glyphs, jungle vines drape across the top edge, a stone pyramid looms in the background on one side and a shadowed idol on the other. Cool teal and slate greens behind warm-toned symbol art, torchlight animations, minimal UI. The mythology angle is played straight rather than camp. One honest flag though - the 500x total-bet ceiling is low for a 2022 release, and with hit frequency around 15% you'll spend a lot of spins waiting for the Major Upgrades chain to actually get going.
