About Thunder Drums: Mayan Mask Slot

Stone temple walls and tangled jungle vines sit behind the reels, with the wordmark stamped in jade-blue and orange stone lettering. The symbol set leans into Mesoamerican iconography without going full kitsch: a jaguar in profile, a coiled red tree frog, a blue macaw, jade serpent cuffs, and a sunlit step-pyramid that doubles as the premium icon. Card royals A/K/Q/J/10 get small gem inlays so they read as Mayan rather than generic. The palette is warm earth tones against jungle green, with the four-tier jackpot meter glowing red, green, blue and purple along the top.

The base game runs 243 ways instead of fixed paylines, and the Wild only lands on reels 2, 3 and 4. That restriction matters because of how it expands: any time a Wild contributes to a winning combination, the entire reel it sits on turns Wild from top to bottom. One useful Wild becomes a full vertical column, which is where most of the bigger base hits come from.

Above the reels sit three drum scatters in blue, red and green. Each triggers a different feature. The blue drum is Thunder Prize: lightning bolts strike random positions and convert them into coin values, paid out 3 to 30 times in a single run, with each cash drop multiplied by your total bet. The red drum opens the Bonus Feature, a pick-style reveal round tied to the fixed-dollar jackpot ladder displayed at the top of the screen. Reveal three matching symbols to claim MINI, MINOR, MAJOR or GRAND, or hit four matching special symbols for the Double Grand, which pays twice the headline GRAND figure. The green drum is the combo trigger: Thunder Prize and Free Games together in one round.

The unusual thing here is jackpot honesty. The MINI/MINOR/MAJOR/GRAND values are printed in real dollars on the meter and stay fixed, so they do not scale with your stake the way most modern jackpot ladders do. Push the bet up to chase them and the prize amount does not change, which is a trade-off the screen tells you about up front. There is no buy bonus, no ante bet, and no gamble round, so everything resolves through the drums.

This is the second entry in the Light and Wonder Thunder Drums template, a direct cultural reskin of the Serengeti Sun release, with the African wildlife swapped out for pre-Columbian Mesoamerican imagery on top of the same engine.
