A title fight squeezed onto three reels. Ultimate KO takes its one big idea straight from the theme: the expanding wild is a VS tile that opens into two boxers, each carrying its own multiplier, and only the winner's number gets paid.

Everything around that is deliberately plain. Three reels, three rows, five fixed paylines left to right, and because a payline here is only three positions long there is nothing to hit but three of a kind. The best regular symbol, a pair of red gloves, returns 5x the total bet. That is the ceiling on an ordinary spin.

Which leaves the VS tile carrying the whole game. Its multipliers run from 2x to 100x, the win cap sits at 7,500x, and volatility is rated very high. On a nine-cell grid with a paytable this short, the wild multiplier is not a bonus laid on top of the game. It is the game.

The arena does most of the work. Red gantry light bleeds in from the left, blue from the right, the two corners of the fight split down the middle of the screen, and behind the ropes sits a packed crowd of half-lit spectators holding their phones up. The grid hangs in a gold-edged frame above the canvas with a lit scoreboard swinging over it.

Symbols are flat inked comic art and they read cleanly at speed: paired red gloves, a single glove, blue satin shorts with a gold waistband, a speed bag on a chain, then A, K, Q and J in torn spray-paint lettering colour-coded red, blue, purple and green. The wild is a fighter in a gold hood. The scatter is a championship belt. When the VS tile expands it fills its reel with two men glaring at each other, one red corner one blue, each stamped with a number.

Free spins move the ring into a warmer, gold-lit gym hung with fight posters, a nice touch on a game that otherwise shifts very little between modes. Boxing played completely straight, too, with no comedy and no mascot, which is not how most sports slots handle it. The royals are the weak spot: J through A in graffiti letters are still J through A, and on nine cells they hog a lot of room.

Long stretches of not much. Three aces pay 0.8x, three kings 0.7x, a line of jacks gives back half the stake, so ordinary spins wear the balance down in small even bites while nothing on screen hints that anything is coming. Then a VS tile drops and the round changes register entirely.

The reveal is the sharpest piece of design here. Both multipliers are shown side by side before one is chosen, so you watch a 50x lose a fight to a 9x in real time. In one bought round of five spins, five expansions, the discarded number was the bigger one every single time: 9 kept and 50 lost, then 4 and 10, 2 and 12, 4 and 10, and 7 against 20 on the last spin. Five expansions say nothing about the underlying distribution and it would be dishonest to pretend otherwise (and yes, that is a tiny sample by any measure), but it is a clean demonstration of what the presentation is built to do to you.

That same round closed at 155.4x on a 60x purchase, which reads well until it is broken down: a single 9x wild on the second spin produced 99 of it, and the remaining four spins scraped 56 together between them. That shape is the game in miniature. Five spins, played for you, asking one question five times over - does a big number turn up, and does it land somewhere that pays.

Riddec has one good idea and has built an entire game around it, which takes more nerve than it sounds like on a 3x3 with five fixed lines. The VS wild earns its keep because the fight does actual mechanical work instead of sitting decoratively on a generic reel-filler. What surrounds it is bare, and not by accident: take the wild away and there is barely a game left to play.

The published RTP is 95.14%, though Riddec ships operator-selectable tiers, so the number at a given casino can sit lower, and the demo build runs at 95%. Very high volatility on nine cells means the swings cut both ways hard, and with a 7,500x cap and a $250,000 cash ceiling above it, most of a session will probably be spent watching royals drop into place while waiting on one tile.

It lands on 27 August 2026 from a small studio with no track record to lean on, so the game has to argue for itself. On that basis the mechanic is worth loading up for and the frame around it is thin.
