Wixx by Nolimit City strips the studio's catalogue back to its earliest era - no free spins, no buy menu, no xMechanic. Three colored crystals (Ruby, Topaz, Sapphire) drive the entire game across a small 4x3 grid with 81 ways, and a 4-of-a-kind hit on any crystal kicks off a single themed booster respin. About Wixx Slot
No free spins. No bonus buy. No xBomb, xNudge, xWays, xSplit, none of it. Wixx predates the entire xMechanic era that Nolimit City built its identity on, and the design reflects that. Three colored gems do everything. Ruby, Topaz and Sapphire are collectively called Shards, and a 4-of-a-kind hit on any single Shard during a base spin kicks off one booster respin tied to that crystal. Respins cannot retrigger, so each round resolves cleanly in one shot.
Each crystal does something different. A Ruby 4-hit converts every Ruby on screen into a red Wild and stacks them on the reels for the respin. A Sapphire 4-hit stacks Sapphire and locks reel 4 to hold only Sapphires, so the rightmost reel guarantees a full Sapphire fill. A Topaz 4-hit is the multiplier path: every payout on all three crystals gets multiplied by x5, and Topaz itself stacks. So Ruby is the Wild-conversion path, Sapphire is the guaranteed-reel path, Topaz is the multiplier path. Three distinct outcomes from one trigger condition.
The interesting layer is what happens when two 4-hits land on the same spin. A Ruby plus Sapphire combo stacks both colors and Wilds, converts Rubies to Wilds, and turns reel 4 into all Wilds - which is the practical route to the top payout pathway. Ruby plus Topaz stacks Ruby, Topaz and Wilds, converts Ruby to Wilds, and the x5 multiplier applies to every crystal and Wild win. Topaz plus Sapphire stacks both colors plus Wilds and runs the x5 on all crystal payouts. No third-crystal combo exists in the spec, since landing 4-hits on all three at once isn't part of the math.
Eight symbols total, four reels, 81 ways. That's it. The art is pure 1980s synthwave: hot pink and magenta gradients on a CRT-style grid background, a slim glowing WIXX wordmark stretched in techno-italic above the reels, and gem-cut polygonal crystals as the only paying premiums. No characters, no narrative, no adult content - rare for the studio's later catalogue but standard for early NLC. The lows are minimalist gem-shaped glyphs in purple and turquoise rather than the usual J-A royals. If you've worked through the studio's later xMechanic releases, this is the cleanest stripped-back precursor, built years before the studio leaned into extreme-variance chains.
