3 Pots of Wishes is a genie-and-lamp slot built entirely around a three-part cash wheel, where the reels are mostly a waiting room for the bonus. Betsoft dresses it up as an Arabian palace: a young veiled dancer, camels, a cheeky monkey, gold bars and treasure chests spinning under a big golden prize wheel.

The base game is 243 ways across a 5x3 grid, but don't expect much from it. The paying symbols are almost an afterthought - the top one returns 5x your bet for five, and everything below that is small change. All the money sits in the coin symbols and the three pots labelled UPGRADE, RESPINS and EXTRA that hang above the reels.

Collect six or more coin symbols and the Hold and Win kicks in. From there, one to three coloured Wilds decide which pots fire, and the best rounds land two or three at once. This is the game that started Betsoft's whole 3 Pots line, so the machinery underneath has since turned up in several other titles.

The setting is a dim palace vault. Twisted brass columns frame the reels, a single lantern glows off to the right, and violet smoke drifts along the floor. The reel frame itself is heavy gold with an arched top, and the whole thing sits under a fan-shaped prize wheel marked GRAND, MEGA, MAJOR and coin values.

The three pots are the visual centrepiece, and they're a nice touch - actual bubbling cauldrons with a turbaned genie peeking out behind each one. Purple potion for Upgrade, orange for Respins, green for Extra, each genie's turban colour-matched to his pot. Symbols are the usual Betsoft 3D render job: a red-haired dancer in a purple veil with her arms thrown up, grinning camels, a monkey, stacked gold bars on a green tile, a flying carpet, and ornate red-and-blue A/K/Q/J royals. Coins land as glowing gold discs stamped with values like 1.00, 7.50 or 15.00, sometimes with an x10 badge slapped on.

It looks warm and polished. It also looks like about forty other Aladdin slots, which is the honest problem with the art - well made, not memorable.

This plays like a slot with the volume turned down until the bonus arrives. The base spins are quiet, the pays are small, and dry stretches are the norm rather than the exception - volatility is high and it shows. You're essentially spinning to collect coins, and until you've got six on screen very little of consequence happens.

When the pots do trigger, the mood flips completely. A single pot is fine. Two or three firing together is where the game earns its keep, wheels upgrading and pointers stacking and multipliers landing on coins all at once. That gap between the flat base and the busy bonus is the whole rhythm here, and whether you enjoy it probably comes down to how much patience you've got for the flat part.

The buy button changes the calculation, too. At 50x you can just pay to reach the interesting bit, which honestly is how a lot of people will end up playing it.

As the original of the 3 Pots line, this is the template everything after it copied, and it holds up as the cleanest expression of the idea. The three-pot system is a smart way to add variety to a cash-wheel game, the combined-pot rounds have a genuine top end, and the cheap buys keep it approachable. The default RTP is honest.

The catches are real, though. The base game gives you almost nothing to hold onto, the high volatility punishes short sessions, and the Aladdin dressing is about as familiar as slot themes get. Worse, the RTP is a lottery depending on where you play - check it before you load in, because a 92% version is a different game from the 96% one. Fresh and clever when it launched, less so now that the same engine powers half a dozen sequels, but the core loop still works. Watch for the operator RTP and it's a fair pick.
