Midnight Bandits drops a crew of cartoon raccoons into a rain-slicked back alley for a midnight food heist, and turns that daft premise into one of Betsoft's busier feature sets. Five separate features share the reels here. That is the pitch, and mostly it delivers.

The base game is a 5-reel, 3-row grid with 25 fixed paylines, but the paylines are almost beside the point. The line pays are tiny, so the game runs on its extras: a full wild reel that nudges into place carrying a multiplier, random wilds that drop with no warning, and stacked mystery symbols. Collect enough coins and it flips into a Hold and Win. Trigger the Pick Bonus and you are turning over takeout cartons for a shot at six jackpots.

The setting is a proper piece of work. A cobblestone street runs off into the dark under a clouded full moon, brick tenements stack up on either side, and art-deco wall lamps throw warm amber pools across the wet ground. Blue and green wheelie bins line the kerb, cardboard boxes pile in the corners, and the whole alley reads as the kind of place you would actually find a raccoon knee-deep in someone's leftovers.

The logo sells it: Midnight in teal-blue cursive neon, BANDITS in hot orange block letters. The stars are the raccoons, cartoon crooks rendered in Betsoft's glossy animated 3D, one of them a ringleader in a fedora and red coat. Card royals fill out the low end, which is a slight shame given how much character the raccoons carry. It looks great and it has a personality, which is more than most reskins can say.

Played straight, Midnight Bandits spends a lot of time quiet. The 25 lines pay so little that a spin without a feature barely registers, so the rhythm is really about waiting for the alley to light up. When the wild reel nudges in with a decent multiplier, or a mystery stack drops on top of a random wild, the game snaps awake, and those bursts are what keep a session moving.

The Hold and Win is the change of pace. It slows everything into a coin hunt, and because the board can keep expanding, there is a real pull to chase one more coin and see the next reel set crack open. Whether it pays off is another matter, since the coins stay small. The jackpot pick, for its part, is pure lottery. You are flipping cartons hoping the Grand hides under one, with no skill or read to it, just the turn. Tense and fun, but it is a coin toss dressed up as a heist.

Midnight Bandits is a lot of game. Five features, a proper Hold and Win with those expanding reel sets, a jackpot pick, and one of the more likeable themes Betsoft has put out lately, all wrapped in a good 96.18% RTP. For variety alone it is worth a look, and the nudging multiplier wild reel gives the base game a spark that plenty of feature-heavy slots lack.

The honest caveat is the top end. That 10,000x headline is the Grand jackpot, handed out by picking the right carton, so the ceiling is a lottery result rather than something the reels can build toward the way a big multiplier game does. Add modest Hold and Win coins, small line pays, high volatility and an expensive buy, and it lands as a strong, fun, varied slot that sits just below the games whose ceilings you can actually chase on the reels. Good, characterful, and a notch short of great.
