About 88 Fortunes Slot

The thing to understand about this one before anything else is the Gold Symbol selector running down the left rail. Before each spin, you pick how many of the five premium symbols (Coin, Turtle, Phoenix, Ingot, Junk) get swapped into their gold versions. Five levels: 8, 18, 38, 68 or 88 base credits. ALL UP lights up the whole stack. More gold symbols means a bigger bet, but it also opens up more jackpot tiers for you to win. That trade-off is the actual decision every spin.

The wild is the FU BAT, the smiling bat charm, and it only lands on reels 2, 3 and 4. Whenever a FU BAT appears, there's a chance it fires the jackpot feature. That's where the gold selector pays off. Set just one gold symbol and you're eligible for the Mini only. Crank ALL UP and all four tiers (Mini, Minor, Major, Grand) are in play. The feature itself drops you onto a separate screen with twelve gold coins. Touch coins to reveal a jackpot icon; three matching reveals award that prize. Values scale with your stake, so an 88-credit spin that hits the Grand pays very differently than an 8-credit one that hits the Mini.

The free games trigger is three, four or five GONG scatters on adjacent reels from the left, and you get 10 spins regardless of how many gongs landed. What's clever is the reel set: the low-pay royals (A, K, Q, J, 10, 9) are stripped out completely. Only premiums can land, so the average spin value climbs on its own without any multiplier gimmick. Bet and gold count stay locked to your trigger, and the FU BAT jackpot can still fire inside the bonus.

Visually it sits firmly in the classic land-based mold from Light & Wonder: deep red velvet, ornate gold filigree borders, a pair of Fu lucky-children flanking the logo, a money pot under the title. The four jackpot meters stack on the right and tick upward as you play. It looks like a casino floor cabinet because that's exactly where it came from, and the port-over to classic Chinese fortune themes didn't soften any of the cabinet feel.
