One hoop, one defender, and a five-shot streak that decides what you walk away with. B-Ball Blitz throws out reels and paylines completely: you tap the ball, it arcs toward the basket, and it either drops or it doesn't.

Every make climbs a ladder pinned to the right of the court, x2, x4, x12, x20, x32. The Collect button lights up after each basket, so the game is one question asked over and over. Bank it, or shoot again. A miss wipes the whole streak.

Five in a row is the only way to the 32x top rung. Baskets land a shade under half the time, which puts a clean run somewhere around one round in forty.

The court is lit like a night game. Deep purple haze hangs over a blurred crowd, the hardwood catches the arena lights, and a red painted key with sharp white lines runs up to the hoop. Your shooter is a 3D baller in a blue vest and headband, number 88 or 33 depending on which character you get, planted dead centre with the ball at his feet. Courtside barriers repeat the B-BALL BLITZ logo in grey and burnt orange, and the backboard glass slowly fills with faint ghosted basketballs as you keep firing.

Presentation is clean rather than loud. The ladder sits top right in plain italic white, the rung you're on boxed in grey, banked rungs turning green, which is about as much interface as a game like this needs. The flashiest piece of art is the Golden Ball, a gold basketball wrapped in flame. Evoplay's character modelling is better than most sports instant games get, though the arena never changes and the animation set is short, so twenty minutes in you have seen everything it owns.

Rounds are over in seconds. Tap, watch the arc, read Goal or Miss, decide. That loop is the entire game, and it sits far closer to a gamble feature than to anything with spinning symbols, which is either refreshing or thin depending on what you came for.

Work the odds against the payouts and the ladder turns out not to reward pushing evenly. Banking at x2 is worth more than shooting for x4. The climb from x4 to x12 is the one step where carrying on clearly beats collecting. Past that the gaps tighten and every extra shot hands back more than it adds, which makes the disciplined line boring and short: collect at x12, walk away. Most players won't, obviously, and that's the tension the design is built on.

What's missing is anything between decisions. Nothing carries over from round to round, no meter fills, no bonus waiting a few hundred shots down the line. Sessions go flat fast. This is a game for a handful of quick rounds while you're waiting on something else, and it plays best that way.

Evoplay has built a stack of these instant titles and this is one of the better-looking ones. The shot has weight, the ladder reads at a glance, and the Golden Shot puts enough randomness into the streak to stop it being pure arithmetic.

The ceiling is where it falls down. 32x for five straight coin flips is money a slot hands out on a decent base spin, and the 47.5% hit rate means the top rung stays theoretical for nearly everyone who loads it. 96% RTP is fair, the provably fair check is worth having, and the whole thing is over quickly by design. Just don't expect the swing of a slot bonus round, because there isn't one hiding anywhere in here.
