Jonny the adventurer is back hunting a cursed grimoire, and Rival's take on the Halloween Book genre sticks to the formula every Book of Dead fan already knows. The leather-bound tome on the centre reel does double duty: it pays as a scatter anywhere on the screen (2x for three, 20x for four, 200x for five) AND substitutes for every standard symbol in line wins. Here's the part that defines the round. Before the first free spin, the game randomly picks ONE standard symbol from the paytable to become the Cursed Expanding Wild for the entire bonus. Whenever that symbol lands on a reel, it stretches to fill all three positions and stops paying as itself. If the random pick lands on Jonny (the top symbol at 1000x for four of a kind, 20,000x for five), and he stacks across multiple reels behind a wild book, that's the road to the 20,000x ceiling. About the Bonus Buy: 100x stake unlocks the same 10 spins, but the bonus RTP drops to 93.80% against the base 96.11%. That's a steep 2.3% house edge premium for skipping the trigger grind, and the worst buy-in value across Rival's recent releases. Trigger it organically if you can wait.

Visually it's full gothic theatre. Less subtle than Play'n GO's Book of Dead, heavier on the occult dressing, and it knows exactly what it is.
