Forget paylines. Forget ways to win. Booze Bash runs on a Match-2-Win system that's unlike anything else in Hacksaw's catalog. Every symbol on the 6x4 grid appears as either a left half or a right half. Line up matching halves on the same row across connected reel pairs - reels 1-2, 3-4, or 5-6 - and you get paid. That's 12 possible winning positions per spin (4 rows times 3 reel pairs). Matches between reels 2-3 or 4-5 don't count.
The paytable reflects this structure. Low symbols pay between 0.5x and 4x per pair. High symbols range from 5x to 100x. And then there are the SUPER symbols - four tiers paying 250x, 500x, 1,000x, and a top pair worth 12,500x your bet. That's the entire max win in a single matched pair.
Multiplier symbols also come in halves. Match a left "x" with a right number on a connected reel pair, and it becomes a Global Multiplier applied to every win that spin. Values run from x2 up to x20. Here's where it gets interesting: multiple Multiplier Pairs don't add together. They multiply. Two x5 pairs on the same spin means x25 on all wins. Two x20 pairs? That's x400.
Wild symbols work as half-symbols too, converting to whatever matching half creates a winning pair. A Wild pair itself pays 1,000x. Wilds won't pair with FS scatters or Multiplier halves, though.
Triggering works through FS Pairs - match left and right FS halves just like regular symbols. One FS Pair starts Guilty as Gin: 10 free spins with better odds on high-paying symbols, Multipliers, and Wilds. Straightforward upgrade, nothing structural changes.
Two FS Pairs unlock Top-Shelf Trouble, and this is where the design gets clever. A Bash Bar appears as an extra row above the grid. After each spin, the Bash Bar reveals one symbol per reel from left to right. If a revealed paying symbol matches a half on the connected reel below, it converts the matching position to create a new winning pair. Converted symbols revert after paying, so the same position awards two separate wins on one spin. Special symbols (Wilds, FS, Multipliers) stay out of the Bash Bar in this mode.
Hell's Happy Hour needs 3 FS Pairs - the Hidden Epic Bonus. Same Bash Bar mechanic, but now all special symbols show up there too. Multipliers in the Bash Bar apply only to Bash Bar wins. Wilds in the Bash Bar convert their entire reel to Wild. FS pairs in the Bash Bar retrigger spins. The activation order changes: FS and Multiplier symbols in the Bash Bar resolve first, then paying symbols left to right.
Bobby Bourbon and Teddy Tequila - two cartoon demon bartenders - run a noir underground bar rendered almost entirely in grayscale. Green neon lighting cuts through the monochrome, giving the game a distinct look that separates it from Hacksaw's usual bright-and-loud approach. The symbols themselves pop with color against the dark background, making matched pairs easy to spot.
Buy options include BonusHunt FeatureSpins (5x bonus trigger rate), plus direct buys for Guilty as Gin and Top-Shelf Trouble. No direct buy for the epic tier - you need those 3 FS Pairs naturally or through retriggering.
The Match-2-Win system takes a spin or two to click. Your first reaction is probably confusion about why nothing is connecting across the full grid. Once you internalize the reel-pair structure, it makes sense - but the learning curve is real, and players used to standard formats might bounce before giving it a fair shot. For those who stick around, the multiplicative Multiplier Pairs combined with SUPER symbol values create a math model that's volatile in the best way.
