About Dragon's Throne Slot
Before the free games round even starts, you make a choice. The screen presents four dragon champions, each in their own color (Red, Blue, Green, Gold), and you pick one as your ally for the round. Each free spin then runs as a single attack against the Queen of Dragons on a separate combat layer above the reels, with both sides carrying health bars that drain on every exchange. Winning duels feeds a progressive multiplier that scales the in-spin payouts; losing them costs you health on the champion side. The duel mechanic is the structural reason the game exists, and it's a rare design choice for a Habanero release of this era, where most titles just route scatter triggers into passive spin counters.
The base game underneath is more conventional. 50 fixed paylines on a 5x3 grid, a stacked Dragon Wild that substitutes for everything except the trigger, and a Castle Scatter that opens the duel round when three or more land. The Queen of Dragons herself appears as the top-pay character symbol, with a small "Doubles the Prize" banner sitting beside her portrait in the UI rail; she's both the bonus antagonist and the highest-paying character in the base game. There's no Buy Feature and no Super Bet here, which is consistent with the 2016 release date; both of those toggles arrived later in Habanero's catalog.
What sits above the reels is the parallel economy. A Grand and a Minor random progressive jackpot count up in the header bar, both fed from the Habanero network pool, both able to drop on any paid spin without a symbol requirement. They're not counted toward the 500x payout ceiling. The Gamble feature is the other side-bet: after any win you can hit it for a card-color guess that doubles or wipes the prize.
The visual identity leans hard into dark-fantasy castle territory. The reels sit in front of an obsidian dragon throne carved from black stone, with curling dragon tails framing the edges of the cabinet and a deep crimson glow behind the grid. The card royals are chiseled into stone-relief letters with dragon-scale texturing rather than the usual flat playing-card style, and the high-pay tier mixes the Dragon Queen portrait with a heavy-mailed knight, a stylized castle scatter, and the four champion dragons in colored medallions. The wordmark up top is in carved-stone serif with fire glow bleeding through the letters. Everything skews Game-of-Thrones-grim rather than cartoonish, which gives the typical Habanero high-pay character art a darker presentation than usual.
