Gronk's Gems introduces a Charged Symbols mechanic on a 6x6 cluster pays grid. When a cluster wins, that symbol type enters a "charged state" - it starts glowing, and a charge bar above the grid tracks which types are currently active. Charged status persists through all cascades until the spin ends. Multiple cluster wins across different cascade steps charge multiple symbol types simultaneously.
The Epic Gem drops into empty positions during cascades. When the grid settles with no more wins, the Epic Gem activates. It transforms every charged symbol remaining on the grid into the highest-paying charged type, then absorbs them all into a single massive cluster. The Epic Gem itself counts as 4 symbols, so even a single charged symbol plus the gem creates a 5-symbol cluster minimum. If three different symbol types were charged across the spin's cascade sequence, and 15 charged symbols remain on the grid, the Epic Gem converts all 15 to the highest payer and forms a 19-symbol cluster (15 + 4 from the gem).
The premium HIGH_4 symbol pays 1,500x bet for a 36+ cluster. A full-grid transformation through Epic Gem absorption is where the 7,500x cap becomes reachable. But landing the Epic Gem requires cascades to fire first - it only drops into gaps left by removed winning symbols.
Three Gronk's Head scatters trigger 10 free spins with increased Epic Gem frequency. The charging mechanic works identically to the base game. More Epic Gems landing across 10 spins means more absorption events, and the charge bar carries across cascade sequences within each spin.
At 110x buy-in, this bonus gives the charge-and-absorb mechanic more room to breathe. A good Gronk's Treasure session charges 3-4 high-value symbol types across early spins, then an Epic Gem converts a grid loaded with charged symbols into a single premium cluster. Without Epic Gem drops, the bonus plays like a standard cascade slot with modest returns.
Three Gem Bag scatters trigger a completely different bonus. Gem Hoarder strips out the charging mechanic entirely - no charged symbols, no Epic Gem. Instead, a progressive global multiplier increases by the number of symbols removed from each winning cascade. Clear 8 symbols in one cascade step, the multiplier jumps by 8. It only grows, never resets during the bonus.
The X-Gem wild appears exclusively in Gem Hoarder mode. When a winning cluster connects to an X-Gem, the global multiplier applies to that cluster's payout. Multiple X-Gems in the same cluster apply the multiplier once per X-Gem connection. A 40x global multiplier on a cluster touching two X-Gems means 80x applied.
Five spins sounds short, but they refill. Landing 3 Gem Bag symbols during the feature resets all 5 spins. The multiplier carries over through retriggered sets. At 200x buy-in, the premium price reflects the compounding potential - a multiplier that's been climbing for 10+ refilled spins applied through X-Gem wilds to decent clusters adds up fast.
The 6x6 grid supports cluster ranges from 5 symbols up to 36+ (the entire grid). LOW_1 and LOW_2 share payouts, as do LOW_3 and LOW_4. HIGH symbols each have distinct values, with HIGH_4 at 1,500x bet for a 36+ cluster dwarfing everything else. The paytable is designed around the Epic Gem's transformation mechanic - individual cluster wins without transformation stay moderate, but converting a grid full of charged low-pay symbols into the premium HIGH_4 type through Epic Gem absorption is where the single-spin potential explodes.
