Le Pharaoh is the second stop on Smokey Le Bandit's world tour. Released in September 2024, it takes Hacksaw's breakout character from his original Wild West heist and drops him into an Egyptian tomb. The move from Le Bandit to Le Pharaoh brought a mechanical overhaul too - cluster pays are gone, replaced by a 6x5 grid with 19 fixed paylines and a sticky re-drop system that drives the entire game.
The shift matters. Le Bandit played fast and chaotic. Le Pharaoh feels more deliberate. Winning combinations freeze in place, creating "Golden Squares" on the grid, and new symbols drop in from above. If those new symbols form wins, they stick too. This chain continues until nothing new connects. It's slower, more methodical, and the payoff comes at the end when the Golden Riches feature activates.
Forget the paytable. The highest-paying regular symbol caps at 3x your bet for six of a kind. Same as the Wild. That's intentional - Hacksaw built this game around coin collection, not symbol wins.
When a Rainbow Activator symbol sits on the grid after a re-drop sequence, Golden Riches triggers. All those Golden Squares from your sticky wins flip over and reveal cash coins, clovers, or Pots of Gold. Bronze coins start at 0.2x your bet. Gold coins reach 100x. And the top tier hits 500x per individual coin.
Green Clovers multiply adjacent coins (x2 through x20). Golden Clovers multiply every coin and pot on the entire grid. Pots of Gold collect the value of all coins on screen, reading left to right, top to bottom. After collection, remaining squares respin with fresh reveals. One good Pot of Gold placement with a Golden Clover active and you're looking at the kind of numbers the base paytable never touches.
Three scatter symbols trigger a Bonus Choice screen. You pick between two paths:
Luck of the Pharaoh gives 10 free spins where Golden Squares persist between spins instead of clearing. That persistent grid is a big deal - by spin 7 or 8, half the grid can be golden, making every Rainbow Activator trigger massive.
Lost Treasures ditches the spin counter entirely. You get 3 lives. The grid fills with dead symbols, coins, and specials. All coins are sticky until a Pot of Gold collects them. Two symbols unique to this mode - Adding Stone Tablets and Multiplying Stone Tablets - boost random coins with extra value or multipliers. Lives refill to 3 whenever a non-dead symbol lands. Run out, and it's over. This plays like a hold-and-win round, and streamers seem to prefer it.
Four scatters unlock Super versions of both modes. Super Luck of the Pharaoh bumps to 12 spins with a guaranteed Clover on every Golden Riches activation. Super Lost Treasures starts with a guaranteed Adding Stone Tablet and better coin values.
Five scatters? No choice. You get Rainbow Over the Pyramids - 12 free spins with a guaranteed Rainbow Activator every single spin. That means Golden Riches fires on every spin. It's the dream round, and it's unbuyable. Five natural scatters only.
BonusHunt FeatureSpins cost 3x your bet and give 5x higher bonus trigger chance. Rainbow FeatureSpins at 60x guarantee at least one Rainbow with a winning combination per spin. The standard bonus buy runs 100x. Super bonus is 250x. The Epic round with guaranteed Rainbows every spin? You're stuck grinding for five scatters organically.
RTP sits at 96.21% on the highest setting, with tiers dropping to 94.33%, 92.26%, and 88.24%. Four tiers is standard for Hacksaw.
Volatility is officially medium - 3 out of 5 on Hacksaw's scale. And yet it doesn't feel medium. A 29.21% hit frequency means roughly one in three spins connects, but those connections are often tiny payline wins. The real payouts hide behind Golden Riches triggers that demand both a winning combination AND a Rainbow Activator on the grid simultaneously. That's rarer than it sounds.
Max win is 15,000x. For reference, Le Bandit hit 12,500x. The bump makes sense given how the coin collection mechanics can compound, but it's still modest by 2024 standards where 25,000x and 50,000x caps dominate the marketing. Whether that bothers you depends on how much you value the Bonus Choice mechanic and the five distinct modes over a bigger ceiling number.
