About Leprechauns Fortune Slot
Three Rainbow scatters anywhere on reels 1, 2 or 3 open the round, and that's where the game's identity lives. You get 10 free spins to start, and every Wild that lands during those spins LOCKS in place for the rest of the round. The leprechaun in the green vest only appears on reels 2 to 5 (never reel 1), and the bonus uses an alternate reel set with slightly heavier wild density, so wilds drop more often than in the base game. By spin 4 or 5 you might be playing with two locked wilds. By spin 8, four or five wilds permanently nailed across the right four reels. Each spin pays a bit more than the last because there's more substitution available, and wins mass rather than spike.
One unusual rule for a 2014 WMS-era title: the sticky wild round retriggers exactly once. Land another three Rainbows mid-bonus and you get +5 spins, total cap 15. After that, more scatters do nothing. Most slots of this vintage allow unlimited retriggers and let a hot streak run forever. Light & Wonder capped it deliberately, which keeps the bonus tight: you know going in that this is a 10 to 15 spin window, not a runaway. It rewards how the locked wilds stack up over a defined number of spins instead of waiting for a re-extension that might not come.
Base game runs 50 lines, 25 selectable and 25 always-on, with a 5x4 grid sitting against a warm orange-gold frame. The backdrop is pure WMS Irish-luck: rolling green hills, a thatched cottage in the distance, a winding blue river, and a rainbow arching over the whole scene. The leprechaun himself is the top pay at 200x for five, with the red-haired winged Fairy and the oversized red-and-white Mushrooms tying for second at 100x alongside the Violin and the glowing Four-Leaf Clover. Cartoon playing-card royals in saturated green, blue, orange and red gradients handle the low end. It's an Irish theme done in the bright, friendly cartoon style that defined WMS land-based art in the early 2010s, and the math underneath ages better than the visuals suggest.
