About The Wizard of Oz: Follow the Yellow Brick Road Slot
Dorothy walks away from you. That's the first thing on screen: a 3D render of the girl in the blue gingham dress (red sash, white pinafore, blue bow in her hair) heading up the Yellow Brick Road with Toto trotting at her heel, lush green countryside and white daisies on either side. The reels sit below in a heavy gilded Victorian frame, the 1939 MGM aesthetic faithfully preserved down to the ruby slipper detailing. This is the third of Light & Wonder's officially licensed Turner Entertainment Oz titles in this batch, and the one that actually puts you on the road.
Three meter badges sit pinned to the left rail at all times: Silver, Gold, Emerald, starting at 8, 10 and 20 respectively. They are persistent per stake. Play, log out, come back tomorrow, the unused meters still hold whatever you topped them up to. Only the meter you cash in resets. Ruby Slippers landing on reel 5 add a spin to any meter still under 50, so most sessions feed those numbers slowly.
Base game runs on a 5x4 grid with a quirk: reel 4 can pre-spawn JACKPOT or WILD symbols before the spin, and reel 5 can pre-spawn one of the three coloured Bonus scatters. Five JACKPOT icons on a line pays the top award (£1,200 at the £1.20 default bet). The JACKPOT also counts as wild-for-wild. Out of nowhere, Glinda can interrupt any spin, swap 2-5 reels for her own giant Wild symbol, push the grid to between 5 and 8 active rows, and apply a x2, x3 or x5 multiplier to whatever lands.
The Yellow Brick Road Bonus needs Bonus scatters on reels 1 and 3 plus a coloured one on reel 5, and the spin count comes straight from that colour's meter. Inside the round, MOVE symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5 show values of 1, 2 or 3, and Dorothy advances along the path by the total each spin. Stops along the way change everything. Land on Grow Reels and the next spin is 8 rows tall. Land on a Glinda checkpoint and the next spin gets 2-5 Glinda Wild reels. Pass the Scarecrow and Dorothy fuses into a Dorothy & Scarecrow symbol; the Scarecrow is then gone from the reels. Pass the Tin Man, same thing happens. Pass the Cowardly Lion and only the Dorothy & Lion combined symbol remains. Reach Emerald City and the round locks into 8 rows for whatever spins are left, MOVE symbols stripped out. Two scatters during the round add 5 spins for the first 20 retriggers, then start paying 1,000x the bet instead. A 10x total-bet minimum sits underneath all of it.
No buy bonus, no ante, no gamble. The whole design pushes you to build the meters and chase the taller grid the longer the journey runs.
