A cannon anywhere on the 5x4 grid fires sideways at the tokens stacked in the two columns flanking the reels, and whatever the shot knocks loose gets paid: a cash tag, a wild dropped into play, one of the eight jackpot tiers, or a way into the bonus.

The setting is a Chinese treasure fleet rather than the Caribbean pirate routine, junks with burnt-orange sails crossing a turquoise bay while a mound of gold ingots spills over the top of the reel frame. Then A, K, Q and J in gold-outlined red fill more than half the grid on a normal spin, which is the usual letdown.

Reels stop, nothing happens, spin again. A lot of this game is that. Four rows and 26 lines throw out plenty of two-and-three-royal returns that hand back less than the spin cost, and the middle of the grid is rarely where your attention sits.

Which makes the tension unusual for a lines slot. The event is a cannon landing, and the half-second before the shot resolves is the only tense moment in an ordinary session (and yes, you will watch the GRAND row glow away up there and never get near it). Everything else is waiting for the rails to line up something worth shooting at.

High volatility does the rest. Long flat runs, then a bonus where the cannon rate climbs and a session turns over in twenty spins. It probably won't click for anyone who wants the reels themselves to be the show, because they aren't.

IGT built a base game that pays attention to itself, which is rarer than it sounds. The cannon-and-rail loop gives every spin a second thing to look at, eight tiers keep the ladder live rather than ornamental, and the art sits above the studio's average for a January release.

The ceiling is the honest problem. GRAND at 1,000x is a modest top for a high-volatility 2026 game, and it shapes what a great session can even look like: a steady run of mid-tier hits, not one spin that pays for the year. Pair that with an RTP band starting at 92.20% and the version an operator has installed matters nearly as much as the game does.
