Tropicool 3 adds vertical expansion to the formula. The grid starts at 6x6 but grows up to 10 rows during avalanche chains. Previous Tropicool entries kept the grid fixed. Here, symbols roll rather than drop - a cosmetic change, but it signals a different engine underneath. The COOL Reel is still 3 rows wide, feeding features into the main grid from above.
The new Multiplier Wild (X) adds its value directly to a global win multiplier. Values range from x1 to x25 per symbol, and multiples stack additively. Three Multiplier Wilds landing with x5, x10, and x3 push the global multiplier to x19 for all subsequent wins in that game round. Combined with Locked Wilds (3 wins each) and Mystery symbols (all reveal as the same symbol), the grid builds compound value across cascades.
Elmo returns but reversed. In Tropicool 2, Elmo walked right. Here, he walks left. Elmo lands on the bottom row (columns 2-6) and re-drops one column left per step. When he reaches column 1, he triggers a complete COOL Reel drop - all three rows of special symbols cascade onto the main grid at once. That's a dump of wilds, multiplier wilds, mystery symbols, and row swaps in a single event. The grid explosion potential is massive.
Three to six bonus symbols trigger 6 to 15 free drops. Extra Drops symbols extend the count. The progressive win multiplier carries between drops. If 3+ bonus symbols and Elmo appear simultaneously, the Super Bonus triggers - free drops with Elmo sticky between every drop. He walks left repeatedly, dumping COOL Reel contents throughout the bonus. That's the 500x X-iter tier, and the path to 25,000x.
Hit frequency is 28% - the highest in the trilogy by a clear margin. The expanding grid and rolling symbols create more cascade opportunities than the fixed 6x6 predecessors. RTP stays at 94.0%. The series has grown past three entries now (Tropicool 4 and 5 followed), but this third installment added the most new systems in a single sequel.
