Every Tropicool game since the first has used a Cool Reel - a separate feature reel sitting above the main grid. Tropicool 4 runs a 3-row Cool Reel over a 6x6 main grid (46,656 all-ways). After each avalanche cascade, feature symbols from the Cool Reel drop into empty positions on the main grid. The Cool Reel refreshes every spin with a mix of feature symbols, ice cubes (spacers), and empty cells. It's the game's content delivery system: the more avalanche chains you trigger, the more Cool Reel features feed into play.
The feature list is dense. Locked Wilds persist for up to 3 wins and carry over between bonus drops. Mystery symbols reveal as the same payout type when no more wins remain. Row Swap replaces an entire row with a single symbol type. Grid Flip mirrors all six columns (1 swaps with 6, 2 with 5, 3 with 4), then the flip symbol becomes a Wild. Multiplier symbols from the Cool Reel add x1, x2, or x3 to the global multiplier.
Flamingo is a walking wild. She starts as a 1x2 or 1x3 symbol, walks right one column per step, and grows +1 in height each step (max height: 6 rows). Each step also awards a free drop in the bonus. A Flamingo that enters on column 1 and walks to column 6 covers progressively more of each column - from 2-3 rows on the left to potentially the full 6 rows on the right. Toucan is a walking multiplier. Also 1x3, also walks right. Each step adds +1 to the global multiplier instead of growing in size. A Toucan walking across 5 columns builds a +5 global multiplier over those steps, with each step also awarding a bonus drop. The global multiplier applies to all winning combinations for the rest of that bonus round.
When both birds are active simultaneously, the Flamingo generates the wilds and the Toucan builds the multiplier. The 50x X-iter buy guarantees both birds on the grid. That price point exists specifically for testing the dual-bird interaction without waiting for organic triggers.
Three bonus symbols trigger 6 free drops (4 = 9, 5 = 12, 6 = 15). Locked Wilds and the global multiplier persist across all drops. Extra Drop symbols from the Cool Reel extend the bonus.
