About Wicked Witch Slot
Released at the tail end of 2015, this one predates the buy-bonus and ante-bet shortcuts that became standard on Habanero's later releases. There's no purchase menu, no Super Bet chip, just the base game running on 20 paylines across a 5x3 grid with a gamble feature attached to wins for anyone who wants to risk doubling up on a black-or-red card flip.
The witch herself is the top-paying symbol, and her ingredients stack down the reels during the base game. When the cauldron scatter lands three or more times anywhere on the board, the free games round opens with multipliers baked in, so a clean trigger followed by stacked ingredient drops in the round is where the bigger lines come together. Running underneath all of this is a symbol collection mechanic that accumulates energy in the background of every paid spin, separate from the scatter trigger, feeding into its own progression. Wilds substitute for everything except the scatter.
Two random progressive jackpots ride on top of the math, the Grand and the Minor. Both drop on any paid spin without a symbol requirement, both pull from a network pool, and both sit visible at the top of the cabinet as live ticker values rather than fixed prizes. The lair itself reads heavy gothic: a dim midnight-blue night sky behind the reels, a glowing green cauldron bubbling stage-right with wispy smoke, a witch's cottage with luminous green windows tucked into the bottom-left corner, and the WICKED WITCH wordmark stamped at the top in chunky blackletter type the color of dried blood. Card royals get the same gothic carving treatment, twisted with thorny gold-tipped vines so they read as part of the lair rather than borrowed casino furniture.
