It's a fruit machine in a Halloween costume. Fazi kept the Wild Hot 40 reels exactly as they were, sevens and BAR plates and all, then hung pumpkins, bats and a witch around the edges of the cabinet. Charming or lazy, depending on your mood.

Fazi never published a volatility rating or a top payout for this edition, so you go in a little blind. From how it behaves, it's the mild end of the scale.

The set dressing works harder than the reels do. Three carved pumpkins stack down each side of the grid, every one with a glowing 40 cut into its face, so the line count is part of the scenery. Around them sit bare curling branches, a spiderweb in the top corner, bats in silhouette and a pair of grey hands clawing up out of black grass along the bottom edge. A witch on a broom hovers just left of the burning logo, and the sky runs yellow at the horizon into deep red overhead. Halloween by the numbers, painted cleanly.

Then the reels start and none of it carries over. Strawberries, bananas, green apples, gold bells, gold BAR plates and big faceted red sevens sit on near-black panels in gold frames. Not one spooky symbol among them. The logo doesn't even say Halloween, it just reads WILD HOT 40 in flaming letters, same as every other edition.

Sessions here are flat in the way old bar machines are flat. Forty lines mean the credit meter twitches constantly, but most of those hits land under the stake, so you drift downward while feeling busy. Nothing is being built toward. No meter fills, no state carries between spins, and every spin is the entire game, resolved in about two seconds.

There's an upside to that. Nothing punishes you for stopping, and the pace stays fast and unbroken if you just want to burn through spins with the sound off. The flip side is that tension has to come from somewhere, and the only place it can come from is the gamble button, the single decision the game ever hands you. Doubling a 3x win twice is a small thrill for what it is.

What it's missing, probably, is anticipation. Games that dangle something ahead of you build a shape across a session; this one resets to zero every couple of seconds and asks you to enjoy the spinning itself. Some players want precisely that. Plenty won't.

A seasonal repaint, honestly done. The frame is fun, the reels are the same fruit machine Fazi has been shipping under this name for years, and the whole thing plays like a bar cabinet: quick, repetitive, mildly hypnotic if you're in that mood. Nothing about it will surprise anyone who has spun a 40-line classic before.

The test for a reskin is whether the art buys you anything, and pumpkins with 40 carved into their faces make a better border than most studios bother with. It's still a border.
