About Worlds At War Slot
Worlds At War drops you straight into a pulpy sci-fi standoff. The 5x3 grid sits against a split-screen cosmic battlefield, with Nibiru's fiery red sun flaring on the left and a serene blue Earth-like world drifting through starlight on the right. The cyan-chrome 'WORLDS AT WAR' logo, riveted like a battleship hull, sets the late-90s Saturday-morning-cartoon mood. Snarling four-horned dragon-aliens, bat-winged purple demons, and a chunky blue battle-mech share reels with eagle-headed avian fighters. It's pure space-opera kitsch, and that's the charm.
Commander Griffin is the Wild, and he's loaded. Five Griffins on a line pay a hefty 10,000 coins, with 2,000 for four and 200 for three. Better still, any win he joins gets doubled automatically thanks to a built-in x2 multiplier. He substitutes for everything except the two scatters, and he's comfortably the top symbol on the entire paytable.
The bonus side is where things get quirky. Three Galaxy Gate shields landing on a selected payline (left-to-right from reel 1, not scatter-anywhere) trigger Planetary Defense, a pick-and-collect round. You tap targets, each revealing a coin prize or a 'COLLECT' banner. Hit Collect and you bank everything, but the feature ends right there. It's a proper risk-reward call. The on-payline trigger is unusual and harder to hit than modern scatter mechanics, which gives away the game's older Saucify roots.
Free spins are a separate scatter, and the counts are low: 3, 4, or 5 anywhere pay just 5, 7, or 10 spins respectively. They're retriggerable and bet stays locked, but there's no extra multiplier during the round, so Griffin's x2 is doing all the heavy lifting. Bets run from $0.01 to $18.75 with 15 selectable paylines and a default $7.50 spin. Volatility skews high. RTP? Saucify never disclosed it, which is annoying but typical for builds from this era. Worlds At War is dated, sure, but the 10,000-coin Wild and that pick-and-collect risk call still hit.
