Juicy Gems Series
Juicy Gems Slot Overview
Cherries, lemons and a cut diamond spinning inside a gold arcade cabinet, with a jackpot ladder glowing down one side. That is the pitch. Classic fruit symbols dressed up in gemstone lighting, five reels, three rows, five fixed paylines, and all of it pointed at a single hold and win bonus carrying four jackpots.
One thing to be clear about up front: there is no free spins round in this game. None. The Bonus Game runs on three respins, and those respins are what get mislabelled as free spins elsewhere. The heart Scatter pays cash and triggers absolutely nothing. So the whole game is five Bonus symbols and what happens after them.
RTP is 96.11%, volatility is high, and the hit rate sits around 14%, which is low even for a jackpot slot. The ceiling is 5,555x the bet, and the GRAND jackpot alone accounts for 5,000x of that.
Theme & Design
The cabinet is the design. A gold-framed machine with a flame crest arching over the reels and the logo in molten orange, set against a backdrop of dark purple faceted polygons, with the reel window in deep maroon and hot orange strips dividing the reels. Down the left, the four jackpot values stack in red, blue, green and violet, lit like a bar sign.
Symbols are glossy and easy to read at a glance: purple grape bunches with a green leaf, round oranges, yellow lemons, plums, bright red cherries. The gems are the step up, a white-lilac cut diamond with a hard highlight raked across it, a flat emerald rectangle, and a faceted red heart with SCATTER stamped on a banner beneath it. Bonus symbols land as amber jewels with their value printed in the centre. None of it will surprise anyone who has played a fruit slot in the last decade (and we have all played a dozen of these), but it is clean, confident work, and the fruit-and-gem split at least gives the top end something to look at.
Symbols & Paytable
| Symbol | Payout |
|---|---|
| Diamond | 20x / 200x / 1000x for 3/4/5top symbol, and 1,000x is a serious line pay on a five-line game |
| Emerald gem | 10x / 50x / 100x for 3/4/5 |
| Grapes | 10x / 50x / 100x for 3/4/5 |
| Orange | 4x / 10x / 50x for 3/4/5 |
| Lemon | 4x / 10x / 50x for 3/4/5 |
| Plum | 4x / 10x / 50x for 3/4/5 |
| Cherries | 1x / 4x / 10x / 50x for 2/3/4/5the only symbol that pays from two of a kind, which is normally a job for the top symbol, not the bottom one |
| Heart Scatter | 2x / 10x / 50x for 3/4/5pays from any position and triggers nothing |
| Bonus symbol | carries 1x to 16x the bet, paid only inside the Bonus Game |
Features & How They Work
Bonus Symbols and the 1x to 16x Ladder
Five or more Bonus symbols anywhere on the grid trigger the Bonus Game. Each one carries a random value: 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 10x, 14x or 16x the bet. Eleven steps, which is finer grading than most hold and win ladders bother with. But those values pay nothing in the base game. They only count once the Bonus Game starts, so four Bonus symbols and a fat 16x sitting there is worth exactly zero.
The Bonus Game
Three respins to start. The regular symbols fade out, the reels are swapped for ones carrying only Bonus symbols and blanks, and everything that lands sticks. Each new Bonus symbol resets the counter back to three. It runs until the respins are gone or all 15 positions are filled, then every value on the board is added together and paid as one lump. Textbook hold and win, no twists on the formula.
Four Jackpots
MINOR 20x, MAJOR 50x, SUPER 500x, GRAND 5,000x, and not one of them exists outside the Bonus Game. The first three ride on individual Bonus symbols, so they land the same way any other value lands. The GRAND works differently: it needs all 15 positions filled, a completely covered board, nothing missing. That single jackpot is where the headline number comes from.
The Heart Scatter
Three, four or five hearts anywhere on the reels pay 2x, 10x or 50x the bet. That is its entire function. No round behind it, no respins, no collection meter. It is a paying scatter wearing the costume of a trigger symbol, and it trips people up.

How Juicy Gems Plays
Long stretches of nothing, broken up by cherries. That is the rhythm. With five paylines and a hit rate near 14%, most spins leave a blank grid, and the wins that do arrive are usually a couple of cherries handing back a slice of the stake. That two-of-a-kind rule is doing quiet work: strip it out and the base game would feel close to dead.
Everything else is waiting. Five Bonus symbols across fifteen positions is a demanding ask, so the wait runs long, and there is no secondary feature to break it up. When the bonus finally lands, the respin counter becomes the whole show. Three, back to three, down to one, and either the board keeps filling or it stops cold. Tense in the way hold and win always is, and for my money worth the wait when it comes. Between visits, though, there is nothing here to hold your attention.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- 1,000x for five diamonds gives the base game a top-end line win, which most jackpot slots do not bother with
- Cherries pay from just two of a kind, keeping small returns ticking over
- Bonus symbol values run through eleven steps from 1x to 16x, finer than the usual three or four tiers
- Four jackpots, topped by a 5,000x GRAND for covering the board
Cons
- A hit rate around 14% is low, and five paylines stretches the dry spells further
- One feature and nothing else, so the base game has no depth to it
- Five Bonus symbols on a 15-position grid is a demanding trigger
- The ceiling is essentially one jackpot rather than a total you build toward
Is Juicy Gems Worth Playing?
A fruit machine with a hold and win bolted onto it, and the honest read is that the bolt-on is the only reason to load it. Credit where it is due: the 1,000x diamond line pay means the base game has a genuine top end, and most jackpot slots strip that out and leave filler. Everything around it is thin, though. Five lines, a Scatter that pays and does nothing more, a hit rate that will test patience, and no buy button in this edition (Evoplay ships a separate Juicy Gems Bonus Buy if that matters to you).
Small stakes and short sessions get the best out of it, chasing a full board and knowing how rarely one turns up. Fine for what it is. It just does not hold up across a long sitting.
