Blueprint Gaming's King Kong Cash series has been running for years, and Splash marks the ninth entry. The formula stays consistent - 6x4 grid, 4,096 ways, cash collect mechanics - but the progression system here is the deepest the series has seen.
A 20-step trail unlocks seven distinct features as you accumulate collect symbols across your session. Start with basic Collect on reels 1 and 6, then work your way through Expand Collect (boost zones), Cascade Collect (symbol removal and drops), Colossal Collect (a 4-reel colossal symbol), Reel Collect (mini-reel spins), Super Shark (expanding value symbol), and Feature Upgrades (three colored banks). The final unlock at 20 collects opens Fishin' Mayhem - an entirely separate bonus mode.
Three or more scatters trigger 10 Kong Bonus Spins. The bonus builds around a collect multiplier trail: 3 collects for x2 and 5 extra spins, 6 for x3, 9 for x5, and 12 for x10. Any unlocked features remain active during the bonus, so late-game sessions with Colossal Collect or Super Shark active play dramatically differently from early ones.
The multiplier only applies to cash values under 49x bet. Jackpot prizes (MINOR 50x, MAJOR 200x, MEGA 2,500x) aren't boosted. That cap matters - it prevents the x10 multiplier from creating unlimited top-end potential.
Once unlocked after 20 collects, you choose between Kong Bonus Spins and Fishin' Mayhem when triggering the bonus. Fishin' gives 5 spins with a grid overlay. Cash prizes landing inside the grid get collected. Dynamite symbols create or expand the grid. Kong symbols progress a separate trail that boosts minimum cash values: 2x after 3 Kongs, 3x after 6, 5x after 9, and 8x after 12.
The grid mechanic creates a spatial puzzle element that feels distinct from the standard bonus. After each spin the grid repositions randomly, so you're constantly hoping the next cash prize cluster falls inside the catch zone.
Three colored banks (Blue, Red, Green) fill as matching scatter symbols land. Blue enhances collect height or adds dynamite in Fishin' Mayhem. Red awards up to 5 extra spins. Green boosts trail multipliers to x3/x4/x8/x20 in Kong Spins or x3/x4/x6/x10 in Fishin'. Banks can combine - triggering Red+Blue+Green activates all three upgrades simultaneously.
Base game modifiers trigger randomly: Feeding Frenzy drops extra cash prizes, Bonus Boost adds scatters, Win Boost upgrades symbols to premiums and wilds, and Wipeout removes everything for a guaranteed win respin.
Medium volatility is unusual for a game this mechanically dense. Blueprint dialed down the variance compared to similar 6x4 titles, which means more frequent smaller wins alongside the 10,000x ceiling. For a series entry with this much progression baked in, that feels intentional - the long trail needs consistent rewards to keep players engaged through 20 collect milestones.
