Look at what a line win is worth here and the design makes sense. Nine regular symbols, and the best of them returns 30x total bet for five across. The second best pays 20x. Down in the card ranks a full line of five gets you 3x. Against a 4,095x ceiling those are rounding errors, so the paylines mostly keep the reels ticking while you wait for medallions.

The shape is unusual too. Five reels by five rows is 25 positions, but only 15 fixed lines run through them, which is sparse coverage next to a standard 5x3. A lot of the board does nothing on any given spin.

Everything takes place outside a mountain temple after dark. Card ranks are drawn as colour-coded temple lettering instead of plain letters, which stops the board looking cheap. Warm, careful work, though the Chinese temple slot is a crowded shelf and nothing here is trying to redraw it.

Base play is quiet. Wins land often enough on paper, but most are three card symbols paying a fraction of the stake, so the balance drifts down in small steps while the reels stay busy. The only part of the board worth watching is the middle.

That is where the game earns its keep. Two medallions land, a third stacks beside them, and the spin stops being a formality. The all-or-nothing resolve is a properly tense couple of seconds, because Wilds are the consolation prize and Money symbols are the payday. Most mystery-symbol slots never build in that fork. This one does, and it is the best idea in it.

The Mystery Chain is a good idea played with some nerve. Making the whole chain resolve to one type or the other, and making Wilds the disappointing half of that, gives an ordinary temple slot a moment of real weight it did not have to invent. What holds it back is the arithmetic. 4,095x is a small top prize for a 2024 release, and it sits awkwardly close to the 1,888x Super jackpot, so even a round that goes well tends to finish in the hundreds rather than anywhere memorable. The three-column restriction makes the feature rarer than the numbers imply, and the paytable is far too shallow to fill the waiting. Handsome game with one strong idea, held back by math that will not let it travel far.
