About Shivering Strings Slot
The villain sits above the reels and watches you play. Pale-skinned, bloody mouth, sharp teeth, red hair flying out behind him, with bony white-gloved hands reaching down toward the grid. He's the Puppet Master, and the headline feature is named after him. When his hands symbol lands on the reels, the Macabre Masquerade fires. The grid is rearranged into a winning configuration, with symbol swaps happening one at a time and some becoming Wilds in the process. It's a guaranteed-win mechanic, not a respin, so the rearrangement is the payout event itself.
Free Games are where the spatial mechanic kicks in. Three Scatters drop the round into up to 50 spins, and any Wild that lands during the bonus expands to fill the entire reel column it sits on. Then, on every subsequent spin, that expanded Wild slides one reel to the left. Land another Wild on reel 5 while the original is on reel 3, and you've got two stacked Wild columns walking the grid leftward in lockstep until they exit off reel 1. Marionette March is the official name, and the walking-wild mechanic is unusual for Habanero, which usually keeps its Wilds stationary.
Outside those two features, Winning Strings is a low-key random base-game converter. It picks losing spins at random and turns them into wins, with no trigger condition you can see beforehand. It's effectively a hidden safety net rather than a feature you can chase.
Visually the game leans hard into horror puppet show. Reel cells use weathered carved-stone backgrounds in maroon, mustard, and grey, with the royals etched into the tiles like gravestone inscriptions rather than printed letters. The painted puppet symbols are the mids: a red sad clown with blue tears, a yellow Frankenstein puppet with visible stitches, a green pierrot with a red nose. A striped circus tent slumps in the background on the right, with fog rolling across what looks like a graveyard on the left. The wordmark is in vintage circus-poster typography, slightly off-kilter. There's a Buy menu at roughly 44x bet for the Free Games, plus a second smaller chip labeled PUPPETS underneath, which loads the Macabre Masquerade directly. Super Bet sits at the usual 25-coin ante for boosted trigger frequency.
