A coin-collect game out on the American plains, built around a rule most studios would never risk: nothing on the reels pays. Spin the 4x3 grid as long as you like and the balance only moves one way. Gold coins, dreamcatchers and jackpot discs drop in, sit there, and mean absolutely nothing until four of them fill the middle row.

That one trigger is the entire game. Four symbols across the four middle positions and the Hold and Win round starts, and only then do the coins carry value: 1x to 9x the bet on the plain ones, 25x, 50x or 100x on the jackpot discs, and a 1,000x Grand if all twelve positions end up occupied. Everything on the grid is added together and paid once, at the end.

Evoplay put the ceiling at 9,419x, which needs the Collector and the Buffalo Spirit multipliers stacking on top of each other rather than any single lucky disc.

Sunset in a desert canyon, and it is warm work. Purple mesa walls bracket a sky that runs teal at the top and burns orange behind the reels, while a line of buffalo silhouettes trudges along a rust-red riverbed at the bottom. Three carved buffalo heads sit on the wooden reel frame, a big gold-maned bull flanked by two smaller purple ones, with the Mini, Mega, Super and Grand meters spread either side of them.

The grid itself is the clever part. Empty cells are cream panels stamped with a faded sunburst medallion, and the middle row is shaded a darker rust so the row that matters is always obvious at a glance. Coins are thick gold discs with a buffalo head embossed on the face and the value punched over the top of it. Mystery symbols are blue dreamcatchers with feathers trailing off them, the jackpot version in purple. The western buffalo look has been done into the ground by now and this adds nothing new to it, but the art is clean, the frame carving is nicely detailed, and nothing on the grid is hard to read.

Sessions split into two completely different games. The first is a waiting room with a spin button, and the tension in it comes entirely from that shaded middle strip: two coins land there, then a third, and the fourth position suddenly carries more weight than anything else on the grid. Miss it and the whole board wipes. That near-miss rhythm is the only thing holding the base game together, and Evoplay clearly knew it, which is why the buffalo heads exist to bail you out.

Sticky coins change the mood more than they should. One fat 9x disc parked on reel two and the next twenty spins feel like they are building toward something, even though mathematically nothing has changed. Then you nudge the bet and it vanishes, which stings.

The bonus is short and brutally decisive. Most rounds die with half the board empty and a total that barely clears the buy price. The good ones announce themselves in the first respin or two, when symbols keep landing, the counter keeps resetting and the buffalo starts throwing multipliers around. There is no slow build inside the round and no second chance once the counter runs out. That abruptness is probably the honest version of Hold and Win, though it does mean a losing bonus lands with a thud.

Strip away the buffalo dressing and this is a well-built coin collector with one strong idea in it: a Collector that keeps collecting, over a board that keeps growing, under multipliers that keep climbing. When those three line up the totals get out of hand quickly. When they don't, and that is most of the time, you are paying full price for spins that cannot pay anything and a bonus that fizzles in three respins.

High volatility is the accurate label here, and 29% hit frequency is doing a lot of hiding, since a 'hit' means reaching the bonus at all rather than winning anything worthwhile. The 32x buy is the sensible way to sample it. Compared with Young Buffalo Song, the earlier and more conventional entry in the series, this one trades a functioning base game for a sharper bonus, and the trade mostly works.
