A sunlit lake, golden fish that swim in carrying cash values, and a single Collector in the middle that scoops them up. That is the entire game.

There are no paylines. No wilds, no scatters, no free spins either, because only two symbols exist on this 3x3 grid and nothing on it is ever read as a combination. Fish land on reels 1 and 3, each stamped with 1x, 2x, 3x, 5x, 7x, 8x or 12x the bet, or one of four fixed jackpots. The Collector lands on reel 2 and is worth nothing by itself. Get one of each on the reels and the Collector adds up every fish and pays the lot. It does that in the base game, not only in the bonus, which is where most cash collect slots keep their collector locked away.

The waterline cuts straight across the middle of the display. Above it a stubby wooden trawler with a red roof and an orange lifebuoy bobs on the swell, backed by pine-covered slopes and pale sandy hills. Below it, everything is blue: light shafts angling down through the water, kelp and bare dead branches silhouetted at both edges, and streams of bubbles drifting up between the reels.

The fish themselves are fat, cartoonish and gold, each one hanging in a rope hoop with a little wooden plank under it showing the number. Empty positions are not blank, they hold a single fat bubble, which is a neat touch given how much of the grid sits empty on a normal spin. Down the left edge the four jackpot plaques stack up in their own colours, red GRAND, green MAJOR, blue MINOR, purple MINI, with the Bonus Buy button underneath. The whole thing is clean, bright and clearly built for a phone first. A bearded fisherman in a green cap turns up on the intro and then never appears again, which is a small shame, since he has more personality than anything on the reels.

Most spins show you an ocean of bubbles and nothing else. Then a fish appears on an outer reel with a number on it, and the only question in the game is whether the middle reel bothers to show up. That is a very short loop, and it plays fast, with none of the reel-by-reel anticipation a five-reel game builds while you wait for the last scatter.

What you get instead is arithmetic. There is nothing to read on the grid beyond the numbers stamped on the fish, no near-miss to squint at, no pattern to learn after fifty spins that you did not already know after five. Sessions run in bursts: long flat stretches where the two symbols keep missing each other, broken by a harvest that lands a few multiples of the bet, and occasionally a bonus that keeps resetting to three and starts to feel like it might actually go somewhere.

Evoplay publishes no volatility figure for this one, and our medium-high reading is an estimate, taken from the sibling title The Greatest Catch rather than from anything the game reports. Treat it that way. The shape of the maths supports it though: frequent small collects, with everything meaningful concentrated in the jackpot fish and in bonus rounds that refuse to end.

Stripping a slot down to two symbols and zero paylines is a real design choice, and this one commits to it properly rather than hiding a normal game underneath. The base-game harvest is what saves it. Without that it would be a bonus-hunting machine with a very boring waiting room, and with it every spin has a reason to exist.

The problem is the ceiling. 6,050x is modest for a game whose top jackpot is 1,000x, which tells you the biggest results come from stacking a full bonus round of fish rather than from any single dramatic hit. Nothing here is going to produce the sort of clip people pass around.

So it is clean rather than thin, but only just, and the margin between those two words is mostly personal taste. Anyone who wants a grid to study will be bored inside ten minutes. Anyone who just wants to watch numbers get swept into a pile will probably be happy for an hour. It is brand new, nobody else has written it up yet, and on the strength of the maths alone it is the most generously priced game in Evoplay's fishing line.
